Photographer's Note
Please open both photos in new tabs for the better versions.
This is one of those times when you don't know which photo to have as the main one.
After rains falling over 1,000 km to the north in Queensland Menindee Lake in Kinchega NP is nearly full. Local rain doesn't fill the lake. We went out to the lake in late afternoon and then again for sunset.
These 2 photos were taken on the first visit looking out through a flooded dead eucalpyt forest of silhouetted trees which makes for strange but stunning scenes.
Another one in the WS.

Pozdrav.
Interesantan i lep pogled, dobar tekst ...
Lepo rastinje i deo jezera, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspeketivom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa belim oblacima koji dolaze.
Dobar rad sa lepom fotografijom u radionici.
Zelim vam sve najbolje.

Indeed, Ian, itbwas a difficult decision to choose the main post - two picture shows well how flood-water show only parts of the frid Eucalyptus trees and other vegetation, fine outcome on both.
Good evening,

Hi Ian
Difficult choice... I think the main upload is slightly more graphic because of its more minimalist composition but it's also interesting to see one with a living tree. Both images are very atmospheric and unusual for the trees growing in water.
Your note gives a fascinating insight into how nature and weather work to create this landscape.
Best wishes

Hello Ian,
Both photos are very interesting and graphically superb. The main one shows nature as arranged by an artist. It's so special I have to keep it among my favourites. Of course credit also goes to exposure, sharpness etc.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ian,
A great wide view of the lake in a healthy state for once. The trees look like they are writhing in their death throes. Excellent sharpness and exposure.

Hi Ian,
Impeccable sharpness with nice repetition of the silhouetted trees. I wonder what this scene would look like at sunset? Tfs!

Hi Ian,
I appreciate the reflections on the water. The point of view is showing the details of the trees. The light is giving good colors output. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian,
These are definitely better in the large format!
Like you, I could not split the two photographs for a favourite! They are both excellent!
The strange silhouettes produced by the dead eucalyptus trees remind me of the artistic shapes produced by the performers of Ballet Rambert (now just called Rambert, I believe).
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ian,
Beautiful, almost surreal composition. I think it would look even better in BW.
Best Wishes,

Hi Ian,
The main photo has this advantage that is works a bit disorientating. Are we looking at the world upside down?
Great effect, excellent reportage,

Hello Ian,
A fantastic view of the large and calm lake with the dead trees and lower bushes standing in the water. They look great against the light blue sky and also the reflections are appealing.

Hello Ian, I like both pictures as they are both excellent especially viewed in the large format.
Here the drowned trees appear to be waving their branches, like arms flailing about in the air, then in the w/s picture the reflections are better.
A very strange and surreal sight.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Ian
A restful nature beauty with the skeletal trees being the key feature of the 'water world' creating a great contrast to its vast surroundings. Excellent shot

Hello Ian.
A sensational photo, which gives a ghostly atmosphere with these dead trees inside the lake, but at the same time the image conveys a special beauty.
I like a lot. You have a good day. Very best regards.

marvelous view with the special aspect of the trees. excellent. curious as the level of the lake can be so flexible.
