Photographer's Note
Please open both photos in new tabs for the better versions.
On Trilby sheep station beside the Darling River in outback New South Wales we stayed in a modern cabin not far from the river. There is also accommodation in some old shearers quarters and a couple of cottages.
But for those who camp it is very scenic but very basic. There are camping sites along a long stretch of the river under the shade of River Red Gums. Camping is a bring your own everything affair with the nearest shop being 2 hours drive away in Bourke.
Each camp site generally has just one facility and that is shown in this photo.
But what is it?
You'll have to go to the WS to find out if you guess is right.

Hi Ian
I kind of expected the photo in the workshop because as recently as 1972, these were a common sight in most suburban Brisbane backyards, which made Brisbane a laughing stock to southern capitals like Sydney & Melbourne. Now Brisbane is pretty much just like Sydney and Melbourne in every way. Hope the redback spiders were not a problem! Tfs!

Hello Ian,
I might have guessed this was for hot showers, or maybe a sauna, or even a massage parlour. ;-) But it turned out to be a nice environment for relieving yourself. Kind of funny.

Hi Ian,
The trees are framing well the small cabin. The point of view is showing the details of the small cabin used as a toilet. The light is giving good colors rendering. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian,
This is again a nice but lonely and deserted place, with the small hut
You chose a nice angle, created nice depth and perspective.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John

Hello Ian,
It was a beautiful and clear day. A good photo of the campsite in front of the large trees with this tiny cabin in front of them. Well-balanced composition.

Hi Ian,it must be a good experience to relieve yourself with such a delightful view, unless someone comes to look .. hehe ... I have never seen such a thing, even though I have seen toilets much worse than this. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hi Ian
It's a decent record shot of the day satisfying your objective - essentially a point and click image.

Hello Ian, It is easy to guess that this small object is the dunny. What is surprising is that it has no door. Not an especially comfortable situation. But it is clean. Did the people leave any sign on the back that it is just occupied? I have quite a rich archive of toilet pictures. The best public toilets are in New Zealand -everywhere, beautifully designed (even by Hundertwasser!) and free. Marvellous gum trees wood.

Hi Ian,
I have guessed correctly -however I was really surprised that it has no doors. I wonder how busy this toilet gets and whether there are lines waitnin next to it, and if so, whether people wait in front of the entrance? I suppose it is an opportunity for a chat...
Very interesting reportage,
Does the main TE gallery work for you? It does not work here,

ian
nice these two images. the restroom is curious, we had many of them when I was a little boy, but they were made of timber, but with doors. I presume they used a curtain to protect the privacy of the users.
take care

Hello Ian,
I guessed right. I hope the wind was not blowing from that direction. I like the curved branches of those River Red Gums.
