Photographer's Note

I'm now leaving Menindee and Kinchega NP and heading farther south. On our last afternoon and night in Menindee heavy rain came down again so that the dirt road south along the Darling River was closed. We had to detour westwards along bitumen (tar) roads via the mining town of Broken Hill before turning south.
This had us driving through very flat land well to the west of the river.
I was taken by this scene of high tension power lines zigzagging artistically across the plain and thought that B&W would emphasise that more than colour.
To see what the colours of the area were go to the WS which was taken looking in a different direction from the same spot.
