Away from granite, tall trees and waterfalls. The town of Bellingen is quite an trendy country town up a valley from the New South Wales north coast. It was also and still is popular with would be hippies.
The shops have gone up market with this glorious old shop (opened in 1900) being a great example with its interior fully restored showing a central stair case and balcony area above. There was lots of interesting stock at expensive prices (eg a good pair of woollen men's socks was priced at $50 Australian or $38 USD or 31).
The outside of the shop plus distracting cars is in the WS it was Saturday morning and the local show was on.
