Barmedman is a small rural (wheat and sheep) town, population about 200, in the NSW Riverina on a branch railway line from Temora. That line only carries goods trains these days. Passenger services stopped in the 1970s.
Like many small towns many businesses have closed - see the WS for an example. Supplies would be a 1/2 hour drive away in Temora.
However the 2 pubs in the main photo appear to be surviving although in checking the photo again I'm not so sure about the one on the left (battered verandah and no signs for a beer brand).

Hello dear Ian
have a pleasant day for today
this peaceful landscape
is necessary to begin
a difficult day..
it seems like a scenery
from a movie film ...may be
a western...from the old times...
but the forgotten car down there
gives a different point of view
regards

Hello ian,
I guess this would be a typical style of architecture for those small rural towns in NSW. Reminded me of some places we saw on cinema from the wild-west america.
Nice colors paited buildings.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Hello Ian,
The buildings are basically very nice, even though some have signs of a neglect that maybe couldn't be avoided in times of changing economy. The photos are well taken as always.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ian,
The diagonal line of the street is giving dynamism to the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings. The light is giving good colors rendering. Have a nice day.

Hi Ian,
Very stylish pubs. The one with pink decorations is even more eye catching. In the US, I suppose such color would be most likely indicating a gay pub.
Nice reportage,
M

Hi Ian
I like the slightly angled pov and contrast between the elaborate pink veranda at right and the slightly dilapidated hotel at left. Good sharpness and warm cold colour contrasts. Tfs!

Hi Ian,also in today's post a great sense of abandonment, both in the shops of the ws and in the main photo, in fact the pub on the left seems to have been let go, but it probably still works as a hotel as I can read from the sign, very nice and colorful instead that on the left. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Ian,
I like that magenta Hotel building. I wonder what can be done to invigorate these small towns.

I liked these three samples of the local architecture with a victorian aspect. nice details of this small and empty city. here even big towns are filled with empty stores after the economic crisis.
take care
