Photographer's Note
I took this picture today in Central Park. This is the famous Bow Bridge, maybe the most photographed location in the park, which includes many Hollywood movies too. I found the reflection quite cool, which my polarizer filter helped a lot to highlight. This is also my first attempt at a RAW shot.

I believe you did extremely well with the RAW conversion. The picture looks fantastic with very nice colours and excellent sharpness. The mirrored reflection is very nice with those little blurred spots showing us the water was that perfectly still. I like it a lot.

Nice composition and interesting subject. If you started to play with RAW, then I think I can tel you some experiments to do. For example, try a different white balance: here, I feel a cold light, even if it appears to be a sunset. Then, thispicture has a huge dynamic range, from the shadows beneath the bridge to the clouds on the sky. I suggest you to try things like HDR merge from the same RAW, or play with the calibration curve.
I did a workshop to play a bit on these aspects.

Hello Shaeri,
very nice reflections on the clear and tranquil waters under this beautiful bow bridge.I like the pale colours and the light as the people that enjoy the view from above.Successful your first attempt at a RAW format.Well done.

Hello Shaeri,
I like the soft light and colours in this very good composition; they bring a heightened atmosphere to the scene. The group of people on the bridge add a nice touch of vitality. Beautiful reflections. Superb clarity. Very good photo work.

I like your pov, with reflections and nice composition. And the figures on top of bridge is the usual way to make it less empty. Good work

Beautifully done Shaeri. The nice symmetry captured here is always pleasing to the eye. New York is starting to show signs of spring. Including the people adda some scale and interest as well. I finally switched to shooting RAW last year after many people telling me it's the only way to go and I've never looked back. It does require some additional PP steps but it is worth it.

Hello Shaeri,
How is excellent result of RAW shoot? Perfect addition of wide white bridge to your scene and visitors, city texture at background makes your frame rich one, off course with splendid reflections. Congratulations.

Well done Shaeri -
This may be a classic icon but you have managed to capture it in compelling light and have a great reflection as the same time. I want to say a tighter crop from the right might improve the composition, but then I do like the one tree and the reflection creeping into the scene. No, leave it the way it is - it's a winning image in my book.
Thank your for sharing.

Hi, Shaeri -
Funny; I recognized it as New York immediately, but in all the years I lived there I don't think I ever came across this bridge.
And it's a good RAW shot. RAW doesn't require that much more effort, just more space. And you can do so much more with it. Good composition and good use of polarizer - not too heavy. One thing you might experiment with is cropping from the right. The WS is an improvement, but to my mind oversharpened a little. I tried my own WS starting with your original here, but couldn't get it the way I wanted, so I took Marko's and did my cropping there. See what you think.
Best,
Dan

Shaeri, j'aime beaucoup cette photo. Le pont Art Nouveau est d'une grande élégance. Les reflets sont sublimes et les arbres avec leurs feuilles nouvelles sont superbes. Bonne utilisation du filtre polarisant.

Hi Shaeri,
Yes, I think I have seen it a couple of times in movies, soap operas and also here in TE. But that doesn't matter a bit, the photo is truly beautiful, it features a very pleasant 'weekend afternoon' mood. You did a terrific choice of POV and the light is just fabulous.
Maybe a little bit more sharpness above the water would be good, but not as much as Marko did in his WS.
Regards, José.

Placid water with perfect reflection of the bow bridge & the trees. Light is nice. Like the diagonal placement of the bridge & the three people do provide scale. Nice work!

Hi Shaeri,
The bridge looks great, especially because of its beautiful reflection in the calm water with a very nice slight distortion. Nice background too with a part of the city's skyline and the colours of Spring. The small group of people is a nice detail. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Shaeri,
Here is a place well sympathetic nerve to escape from the tumult of the NY city. Beautiful and pleasant image, I like much the reflection of this bridge. Having for the moment a bridge and not a reflex camera, I do not know too subtleties of the RAW format. A beautiful image and thank you also to Marko for his WS.

Bonjour Shaeri,
une photo simple et très esthétique d'un spectacle que tu peux voir tous les jours. Belle harmonie entre ville et nature grace aux arbres et entre réalité et reflets, ici bien photograhiés.
Une symétrie interessante.

Hi my friend,
so this is your first try playing with RAW? Isn't it good? Since I've started using it on my D80 I don't even remember how to switch back to jpeg! ;o)
What sftw did you use to work around it?
This shot is good! The beautiful reflections make the difference here adding a special point for the compo. Well done!!
Thanks for sharing it.

Shaeri, quite interesting to see how the same object look so different when taken from a different angle even if it is done just seconds apart. I compared this here with your following post and although I prefer the next one this here isn't bad at all. The inclusion of the skyscrapers in the background gives an additional element of city that the other doens't have at all.

Hi Shaeri. I missed it earlier. Looks like I became lazy. Hence, my head bows before the bow bridge! Beautiful perspective, really. Your first attempt at a RAW made it a perfect one. I liked the elliptical formation with the bridge and its reflection. Very soothing to the eyes and the moods too. Regards.
