Photographer's Note

The sand pits of Port Washington, on Long Island's north shore, provided much of the raw material for the concrete that built Manhattan. All sorts of interesting things could once be found buried here. Perhaps the remains of this was the burial ground for a mobster? It's hard to tell what model or year this is, but it looks like late 1950s.
