Photographer's Note

One never know when the fog will let the place to the sun or vice-versa in San Francisco... I got a little gift when passing in Powell street near Union Square, this colorful building and its elaborated stairways iluminated by a bit of sun... It was a tiny moment once the fog covered the sky just a bit after... as if God had turned off the light...

excellent shot, Flavia, I like a lot the symmetry and elaborate lace-like patterns of the bulding, very well seen. but I particularly like that small red element on the first balcony, perfect accent and addition to this otherwise strictly geometrical scene. thanks for sharing :)

Hi Flavia,
Strong dynamic composition with great lines and an excellent symmetry.
The few colours are just enough to make this one pop-out from the rest. The shadows on the wall create an extra nice touch to it...i like it.

Funny note, Flavia, but this is why we love SF so much with moods that we never forget. Lovely little balconies and I wish one would be mine and I would stand there feeling the pulse of life. Nice the shadow playing on the wall, and I think this makes the picture for me. Have a good night, I actually have to switch on the light, it is getting dark now before 5 ... winter time. Barbara.

belíssimo trabalho usando as formas dos balcões, janelas e escadarias e ao mesmo tempo usando as linhas criadas pelas sombras. Realmente uma bela imagem onde as cores estão muito belas também.

Hi Flavia, great lines in this one, with the architecture as well as the shadowing created by that gift of sunlight that you received. The contrast established between the white rails and ladders against that red brick works very well too. Great shot.

grafismo muito bonito você registrou aqui. Não vejo distorção que atrapalhe seu trabalho. As sombras ajudaram a enriquecer a imagem, com os desenhos formados na parede. Outro fator que me agrada bastante é a simetria. Cena muito bem capturada. Parabéns!

Um belo detalhe do edifício você capturou, bem enfeitada essa escada de incêndio, geralmente elas são bem feias, e as sobras foram o destaqeu da foto!

I like for the simplicity of the composition, the strong graphic lines and design, the minimal color of the scene - also duo-tone or tri-tone. This is well seen - it is something I would have walked right by. Probably this scene would have never registered on me. Good artistic vision! A well designed image.

Flavia,
a typical "flavia shot", seeing simple lines coming together, composing it, giving a tight frame and at the end a strong graphism. The only thing that I miss is a person to explore the rare sunlight. My first impression was that the hydrant were flowers and than this shot would have been a completely outstanding. Still a very good one, I like it a lot!

Este tipo de escada é muito usado por cineastas americanos, mas esta aqui está um encanto de linda, não lembra nada aqueles filmes de suspense e ação.
