Photographer's Note

This title is just for fun. I photographed somebody's Buick parked on the Stearns Wharf, a huge pier over the Pacific Ocean, in the bay at Santa Barbara, California.
Americans are crazy for cars, as everybody know. In California, I discovered they are also crazy for piers. Most of the beach towns and cities I saw, they've got a pier. Some piers, like this, have restaurants and shops; others are often just for a leisurely walk. But (some) Americans don't like to walk. Therefore, this one in Santa Barbara, Stearns Wharf, it's a kind of drive-in pier, completed with a parking lot for your small Buick, so that you have to walk as little as possible.

This pier in precisely in front of State Street (my previous post), between East and West Cabrillo Boulevard. Click view map, here at left.
