Photographer's Note
Hi All,
Thanks for all the nice critiques for my previous firework picture. This one was taken yesterday. I wanted to add the ny skyline to the fireworks. So, this time I took it from New Jersey (across the Hudson River). I used a tripod, and a remote to stabilize the camera. It was very bad weather yesterday, heavy winds, thunderstorm. I was hoping that I would also get lightning here! Not that lucky! I did very little PP. Just some crop. I have uploaded my processed version as workshop.
PS. 4th July is American Independence Day. There are spectacular firworks all throughout the country to celebrate this occasion. The American Independence Declaration was written by Thomas Jefferson in 1776.

Very well chosen point to photograph fireworks.
I also like exposure you got here - almost nothing is over-exposed, but at the same time much darker skyscrapers still haver lots of details visible.
I don't think you choose the best white color balance here - there is too much yellow. Also photo would benefit from some noise reduction.

Wonderful visual effects behind the illuminated buildings. Flowing water of the Hudson River is useful.

Hi Shaeri,
Wonderful work. The blossoming flower in the sky with the highrises in the foreground is wonderfully captured! I like the framing very much. The colours are really wonderful. Only thing is that it lacks a bit sharpness, but I like the WS version here. That is a beauty.

Hi Shaeri,
A wonderful NY capture!
I like so much this scene, with the sky illuminated by such big firework.
The extension of the light makes a good balance here, and I like the redish tones of the overall image.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.

Hi Shaeri,
Nice shot! I was thinking of going to JC also, is this by exchange place, newport or the park? The pics taken from brooklyn are very nice..Yes, the weather was bad, it stopped raining though during fireworks time ;) or I didn't notice.
I love the colors here, seems like the fireworks have lighted the sky and the river. Lovely light and reflection.

Sheri,
Very nice shot, and I don't really see any noise that detracts from the image. I do agree with some of the comments above that the bright white could be toned down, just a little. Good reflection, nice balance of light and dark.

Nice catch Shaeri. Perfect timing catching the burst at full, well, burst. It really looks huge, especially with the buildings in fromt of it. Great color and good composition.
...and thanks for the memories. I haven't been to Liberty State Park in about a decade. I will always think of it as a "power place" as my friend Roger described it. The spectacular view of the NY skyline...but sadly, I do remember it with the twin towers and don't want to think of the view from there without them...
Great work.

Hi Shaeri, I saw this one in your random picks, I realize its an oldie, but what the heck, I just saw it today and had to comment on it.
The composition is unique, but I like it, it works well. Normally you would try to put the fireworks front and centre, but you have them hidden by that tower, either by design, or through no choice of your own, it doesn't matter; it works. What we get from this is a great orange glow behind the buildings and across the rest of the sky and water, from this one massive burst. With the exposure you selected the lighting in the buildings adds to this effect. You must have been standing high. There is also no perspective distortion to your buildings. It all works very well.
I also went in and had a look at your workshop where you sharpened, filtered and added the frame. I didn't see a big difference in the sharpening, but there seemed to be a little less noise which was good, and I liked the frame. Very nice presentation all around. Enjoyed!
Thanks, John

Hello Shaeri
The timing is excellent. Like a lilyball flower exploding in the sky. The dark sky is lit up in it's brilliance. Exposure, which IMO is the most difficult here, is simply perfect. Fine work!
Best Wishes
