Dream Lake storm, a photo from Colorado, West

Dream Lake - Rocky Mountain National Park.

One of my favorite lakes up the Bear lake trail head ... it sits under Hallett peak (el. 12,713 ft. - 3875 meters if my math is close).

This was taken when I barely knew how to turn on a camera .. I got kind of lucky .. the incoming storm darkened the sky enough to saturate the colors and not blow much out.

Hi John,
God's country with beauty below the serious strom brewing up above. Nice sharp conrast between the trees in the foreground and shear rock in the background.

Hello John. Wonderful picture of the park. The storm makes for a far more dramatic picture. Nice balance. You'll find with photography that a lot of us rely on "luck" to a degree. Seems that those shots you put all the effort into turn out ordinary, and that quick snap over your shoulder while escaping the bear can be brilliant. Trick is to take lots, and dump the duds before anyone notices. (Works for me)

Wow. This picture brings back old memories. I had been on this trail before with a girlfriend who introduced me to hiking. Got a picture of this lake and mountain hanging on the wall in my study room. Great photography with the new camera (could not be new anymore since your other entries are with Olympus).
