Photographer's Note

4th in the Millenium Park series:

One of the things that amazed me about this park was how many children and parents were just playing in the water. The two giant screens are about 80 yards apart (250 meters) and between the screens is a huge puddle. The puddle is just deep enough to splash in and hundreds of children were running around splashing in this enourmous puddle.

It was the happiest thing I have ever seen. Kids were doing what kids need to do, splash in a puddle. They were so joyous, playing outside, using their imagination, and chasing each other.

The scene was such a contrast to other critiques I have posted about modern childhood past times.

Very nice take, I like the crop here not seeing the faces but appreciating the movement and action, the splash of water and the game that is the spirit of this shot, the joy of youth...The graphic elements here combined the the almost monochromatic tonality creates a strong statement yet under a simple composition. Well seen!
One of your best, in my opinion!

excellent! Good contrsts between dark and light areas, and lovely light puring into the shot from the upper right hand corner. he composition is interesting in how you combine people and the geometric shape with the strong crop.

Couldn't be more graphic, Brady! The shot is gorgeous, a delightful design. Very nice exposure that brings out not only the lights but also the textures of the waterdrops.
