Photographer's Note

...was arrayed like one of these.
Luke 12:27

These are not lilies...but the majesty of nature still shines through. This is Cascade Mountain, a dominant peak located east of Provo, Utah. This image was taken looking north toward Cascade Mountain from the base of Provo Peak near rattlesnake pass along the Squaw Peak Trail.

This was a relatively easy shot...except for the swiftly changing and fading light...and finding a clear spot between the maples & aspens to shoot from. I opened my zoom to the widest view and used f/14 at 1/6th of a second. I also tacked on the trifecta...a UV filter, a red enhancing filter (didymium), and a circular polarizer.

This trip (and this image) made me really want to get a wider zoom...something in the neighborhood of 10mm-20mm. I'm sorely tempted to get the new sigma...now if I just remembered where I kept my pot of gold. ;-)
