Photographer's Note
I have been very uninspired lately and that has led to much lack of phototaking.
From the encouragement of a few of the TE memebers I have been out just shooting trying to get out of the funk I am in.
So here is a busker out at night in the square of Denton. I have lived here for 10 years and I have never heard a busker out at night, and I was so pleased to hear this guy jammin' out the other night. He so greatly increased the ambiance of the square as my wife and I were just hanging out.
This shot interests me because of the lady's peircing stare. I tipped the guy but she was still really interested in what I was doing, and why I thought they were photo worthy. I just smiled.

Nice shot - I see what you mean about the lady's piercing stare, certainly it would appear that the musician is used to people looking at him, maybe she wasn't so comfortable about it!
I like your choice of a B&W image here, it suits the scene & the grain from the high iso is great, reminiscent of 35mm B&W film.

Hi Brady,
a good docu-photo, however...it would have been really good to get a better idea of what they were actually doing, as his stance as a busker is a little ambiguous...you could have sneaked your missus into the photograph - (I wouldn't tell anyone :))
ok, I'm a fan of the grain, in fact I have purposely been using a high ISO to get the effect. However, I feeel something strange has happened here, as there is a concentration of spots on his face. Also, the background seems overexposed?
good to see you out and about again...

hola Brady,
The piercing look is certainly one good aspect of this shot. I also the graininess of it; is it all the result of ISO 1600? or the pp also had something to do with it?
hey, could you tell me what lens you were using for this shot? your f-stop is really low.

Brady, I think that what is happening to you is that you have grown uout of the face of point-and-shoot, and you need to explore new and fresh ways to photograph. I would suggest researching about a topic and then capturing it.
I have seen you doing this kind of work before, the airport series to name one, the jazz festival... you are good documenting...
Cheers,
Enrique

Hi Brady,
I like the scene and the grainy b&w is perfect for it.
A photo with atmosphere

Hi Brady,
That's a lovely night scene! The B&W adds extra atmosphere to this. Good bokeh and I like the grainy feel a lot. I'd probably get a lower PoV to make it even more dynamic. Overall a good attempt. TFS!

Good way to break out the form by trying something cool...like this night shot. The noise here is high, but I think if you try not to capture well exposed and unblurred shots, but just go with the motion of catching interesting movement, dark and unfocused and blurry though they might be, the photos may come out to be more fun.

Hi Brady,
thats a good night capture. Jazz and Blues go best with the night so Im not surprised the night increased the effectiveness of this scene. I love the guy on his trumpet, you got him at the perfect time here, just look at that face!
