Photographer's Note
Here goes the view from the Silver bridge which i promised to show you yesterday :)
The Colorado River was originally named Rio Colorado or "Red River" by the Spanish. A person looking at the river today may not understand how it came to be named in this way, as the present day color of the river is more of a blue-green. However on this picture and that day when i hiked down it had orange-brown colour, i have no idea why, probably it was my "luck" to see it like this :)
There are other rivers with the name Colorado River, but this one is the longest and the largest by volume.
I hope you liked my Canyon hiking serie of pictures, i think this is the last one that i post for now (some Te members asked me to "stop" with this heat :)
And i hope that you enjoyed the beauty of the Grand Canyon at least on my pictures, as i enjoyed it when i was there.

Good final point, Vero! All the seria is very good. Maybe i like it so much coz i'm in love with red (nor pink :)) colours :). Here you have special view, the same brown water i saw once in Altay mountains - Katun river. Up-stream it was raining and roaring flow was deep brown.
I see you are very lucky girl: to find tasty fish everywhere ;), to see rare water and generally to visit such place :)

Hola Vero ! How are you guapísima !We are a bit tired , slept few hours and don't hardly have time to post pictures (but made thousands !!!) How are you doing ?
That serie of Gran Canyon is a real portfolio , a tribute to the wildest nature , the living colours and almost can feel that sensation of draught , sweat and need of water as well as check how human breath can surrender to those beauties mother nature once put in this planet
Never get tired of this pictures , i love colour contrast a sort of impresionism in photography !
besos !

Hi Vero!
Are you still in Arizona? Funny how some parts of this river is muddy in color and other parts it's green! Can you imagine owning a home at this spot? People will ask:
"So what do you grow?"
"Rocks." I reply.
Take care! By the way, any more pics of San Francisco? Regards! - Mike O.

Hello Vero,
The canyon looks incredibly different from the lower aspect of the river. Such intense reds and the sparse greens truly makes this a Southwestern Painting.

Veronika, les couleurs sont vraiment extraordinaires aussi bien celles des rochers que celles du rio. Le ciel bleu naturel est là pour faire contraste avec ces jaunes orangés du reste du paysage.
Belle photo !

Hi!
You were right in your last post. It was really worth going on the small bridge to capture this shot! The various colors that are taken by the river are linked to the mass of sediments which are in suspension in the water. When a big storm occurs somewhere around the area, the red-brownish roks are washed and the water carries out fine particles of red clay and other minerals to the main river that takes a red color. When the weather is more calm, the amount of particles in suspension gets lower and the color of the water gets more transparent and reflects more or less the color of the sky, which causes the green-blue aspect.
Always dealing with colors, I must say that your composition is incredibly colorful and that you've managed to make it relatively dynamic, thanks to the nice perspective on the river.
Thanks for sharing.

What a light you had there! This red is facinating! It remind me my hike there and to go back from there to the campground, it was really long and hard but as I have done it in October, the temperature was more acceptable.
