Photographer's Note
Here you can see the "zig-zag" South Kaibab trail :)
It was easy to get down, but little bit worse to get back.. :)
The trail descends 4,500 feet in total, there is drinking water at the start and at the river but not in between. Hence because of steepness, exposure to the sun and lack of water the South Kaibab is more difficult and strenuous than the Bright Angel (other trail which leads to the Colorado river) although it is slightly more scenic.
I personally enjoyed the views along the South Kaibab more, it's much more open as the Bright Angel trail.
..Like a superhighway into the Canyon.. :)

Hi Vero ! Amazing shot with the zig zag path . Did you take it during the same walk (in which you had woken up so so early) . Colours as astounding and the visual effect is superb . I 've never been so keen on US even from a touristical viewpoint but Colorado Canyon is one of the calling exceptions a desired place that surely would draw my breath , i have to go !
Fantastic all your Canyon serie . Nothing to add but admiration (for the place and pictures :)
Besos Vero y disfruta de las vacaciones or at least relax now you have less pressure

Wow, what a fantastic and dangerous POV!
excellent shot Veroniks, i didn't visit that part of the Canyon, and was a big error!
excellent colours and light and good focus.
that shot remeber me the inital part of a Werner Herzog movie: "Aguirre the Wrath of God", that have a really similar set but on the Andes.

Hi Veronika. I like this view that shows us a different aspect to the usual wide-angle views of the famous scenery. In your photo, the viewer gets a feel of what it is like to hike one of the trails in this area, and your note describes the experience quite nicely. The zig-zagging lines of the trail through the scenery are a good compositional element that makes it easy and fun to explore all the details in your photo. Nicely done.

Hi Veronika,
Very impressive POV to give us vertigo, well seen with this sinuous path. Great landscape.

Hi, Vero. Wow... this one is best from canyon seria. You found perfect point of view and what impress also is that the very bottom of canyon is clearly visible. Very good contrast, very sharp and clear and this zig-zag is just amazing..i guess even to go down was not that easy....just if slide down...though bad idea - too much hummocks :)
Have a nice day

Hi Veronika - fantastic vivid colours, the pink snaking path adds appeal to the geometry, it might be a great experience to walk down this path...if only one did not have to walk back up again.

Besides showing the zig zag trail leading up the canyon side this photo has real composition appeal to it. I love the bright details in the center that stand out in contrast againest the dark lower left section and the lovely details in the background, which adds a nice depth to this photo. Nicely done!

Hi Veronika. When I was out in the southwest I saw my fair share of steep and windy trails but nothing that even gets close to this. The light was ample to illuminate your focus. It might help for scale purposes if there was a person out there. Nice shot Veronika.

Veronika,
Wow, amazing view! I like your angle here as it gives a definite sense of size and proportion and I am tired just thinking about hiking that. TFS, Cheryl

very pretty...I love the color (and you get extra points to the Lombard St. reference). This is one heck of a walk up...I still hurt just remembering it.
