Photographer's Note
August 21, 2001. A few days before...
This image was taken from the observation deck of the Empire State Building.
I symbolically waved "hello" to my friends who used to work in the World Trade and World Financial Centers at that time.
After that the tragedy was too big. But we still love New York as it was at that time!
In the lower left quarter of the image you can see
the famous and amazing "Flat Iron Building".
There is Hudson river on the right and East river on the left. They both get into the Atlantic ocean after they meet at the tip of Manhattan island.

A lovely POV, especially for scanned! Nice post and a sad reminder of what once was in that fantastic city.

Beautiful view from Empire State. It is sad to remember that we can not see this view anymore.
The foregrond view is very good. I like how the flatiron bulding stand on the Broadway and 5th avenue corner.
Well done!!

Hi Irina,
I didn't go to the observation deck of the Empire State Building ... and now there is no chance to see what you did.
What a view. Amazing.

The observation deck of the Empire State Building is certainly amazing. I have a picture very similar to this (along with probably millions of other peole), but in my photo, you have something that I don't..It's so sad the towers are gone. I can't believe it's been almost 5 years now.
Amazing photo Irinia!
