Photographer's Note
Some TE members have recently shown snowy scenes from their cities. We had more snow here in NYC last week, and I took a short walk around my neighborhood while the snow was still falling.
This scene is "nothing special" as Gert would say, but I still liked the view. The people standing there are waiting for the local bus, which stops at that spot.
This is the same corner where I took my cherry blossom photo last spring. There is a small playground to the right.
Take care everyone!

Hello Brenda,
I don't remember the details enough to see what you have improved. But since it is a typical nothing special, I like it. ;-) It's obviously a cold and miserable day. We can see how the wind has blown the snow across the sidewalk. There is still a lot of snow on the nearest side street, but it's getting dirty from the cars. You were brave to challenge the forces of nature to go for a photo tour. I would have preferred to stay home in this kind of weather.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hello Brenda,
A great winter impression from Brooklyn. As you have seen here, Europe looked like this two weeks ago, but at the moment we're experiencing an early spring with lots of sun and temperatures as high as 65F. I like the way the trees seem to create a kind of tunnel here.

Ciao Brenda,I hope the photo does not disappear like it did yesterday .. hehe ... surely you were not satisfied with the quality and you had deleted it. Beautiful scene, the snow in N.Y is always a sight. And I don't know why, but in the Italian news it is always described as a tragedy, even if it doesn't seem to me to have been so abundant. An excellent photo with great quality despite the difficult light.Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Brenda
That looks mighty cold! Excellent winter shot such a lovely feel to this picture and you have chosen a good viewpoint too. Like your lead-in with those figs add the hints of colour and life in the shot .. and nothing cliched.
Lovely capture and tfs

hello Brenda, marvellous view of the street with the snow falling. I like this haze very much. Only a week or so ago we had similar views, now we have warm days and all snow is gone.
Have a nice day

Hello Brenda,
There is a huge difference in atmosphere between the cherry blossom moment and what you record here!
It's a well composed photograph, the railings and the trees creating a strong linear perspective, drawing our attention towards the figures.
The strong contrast between the snow and the almost silhouetted figures and features makes the scene seem extremely cold.
By contrast, we are experiencing some of the warmest weather ever recorded in February!
Keep safe,
Bev :-)

Hello Brenda,
Yes, New York and the northeast of the US often get a thick layer of snow. This year it was also Texas's turn. But the temperatures there were a lot lower than here during our cold week.
In your picture you can see the snow flying through the air.
It doesn't seem like a pleasant place to wait for the bus. It looks icy cold.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Brenda, you braved the falling snow with your camera.
I get a real sense of the cold conditions here; the falling snow masks some of the distant view.
It is almost monochrome, but not quite.
Interesting scene, enlivened by the people waiting for the bus.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Brenda
looking at his, it just reminds me that the next time i visit Manhattan i really need to expand my route and go to Brooklyn.
ya, I would imagine the Spring shot with cherry blossom's would be dramatically different :) In my opinion, its good to live in a city where you actually experience all 4 seasons. I remember having that conversation with Lisa, and she says one the one drawback to living in Australia is its basically hot all 12 months - I wouldn't like that. Good to see the local snow season :) cheers
Craig
