This sunrise moment was taken near South Lake in the eastern sierras. It certainly is worth braving the cold to get up and witness this spectacular sight.
I added contrast and sharpened the image a bit. This is a cropped image to delete my tent.

Howdy Karen,
YOur sublime sunset does not reveal the temperature extremes in my Eastern Sierra Nevada. I have cross country skied South Lake and other nearby areas in winter and can testify to the coldness, but the magnificent beauty is worth it.
My only Sierra Nevada regret is not going to work when I could for the Calif Dept of Transportation's District office in Bishop. Oh well...

Beautiful! Awesome capture of the sunrise! Love the colors of the clouds and the sky. Good idea to anchor the composition with the silhouette of the trees and the mountains. Very well done, tfs.

Great colours and worth the effort of an early rise! I like the almost pastel shades of the colours and the way you have silhouetted the foreground to create a frame for the clouds.
