Photographer's Note

I am very annoyed with the winter this year. I have been hoping to have another set of minimalistic photos to add to my collection of last year (here, here and here), but every day that I had carved out for photo hunts there was something wrong - no snow, no light, no clouds, no trees, no this, no that. or may be I have simply lost the ability to see what actually is there.

so this is a winter that I have to escape, and will just that tomorrow in the general direction of Guatemala and Lago de Atitlán for a week or so. I hope to re-discover my photo eyes there.

about the photo: I was standing on the path that you have already seen in this photo, looking right towards the Windsor Dam of the Quabbin Reservoir. I put the edge of the Dam in the very center on purpose, I wanted a static, frozen, immovable scene. the image required insane amount of cloning to remove the branches of the trees obscuring this view.

RAW, ISO 100, spot metering.
