Photographer's Note

my apartment looks like a laptop graveyard, three during two and a half years. and what is most painful - I have NOBODY but myself (and my craving for coffee) to blame. still, it hasn't prevented me from ordering the fourth, so all bets on how long it will last are welcome. meanwhile, since all my Chile photos are in the very cold and dead bowels of the latest laptop, I'm back to the last year archives.

about the photo: pretty simple, rainbow over Gunn Brook Falls near Sunderland, Massachusetts. the exposure was quite tricky, the contrast between the sunlit water and dark rock was almost beyond camera's capabilities. after some experimenting I ended up with measuring exposure from the brightest spot to avoid overexposure, and then adjusting exposure value way up to get some details in the shadows. last year I had already posted this shot from the same place.

RAW, ISO 250, EV +2.33, 66mm focal length, spot metering.
