Photographer's Note

It's quiet morning on the mountain lake in the Cascades, and our small party (my friend, two kids and myself) are canoing south from Little Beaver campground, heading towards Cat Island. Snow-capped peak directly behind it is Jack Mtn. (2763 m), the tallest in this area. It's warming up and the day is looking good.

Unhurried, rhythmic strokes of our paddles, splashes and smells of water mixed with crisp mountain air, this unspoliled wilderness around... How many more days like that ahead?

A niech to Leszku, coz za piekny krajobraz. Kapitalne miejsce, uwielbiam takie skaliste wysepki. I cala okolica beautiful. Troszke kolorki ucierpialy przy skanowaniu zapewne, ale to szczegol ;).
Pozdrawiam i prosze o wiecej takich.

Leszek,this is a nice post.the whole picture is crisp.The Canoe is visible at the bottom.Maybe a crop would add more look to the pic.Nevertheless, a great capture.Good note too.Felt like being there. - vikram

This is a great life you are representing here (reminiscent of some of some nwoehnl's fabulous shots). I lived in Minnesota for 8 years and made a few trips to the Boundary Canoe Area in the North - fantastic experience! I like the tip of the canoe just visible in the bottom (even a bit more owuld be fine), and the reflections.

Beautiful shot from this canoe's eye view - great colour and one just gets the sense of being there and choosing which side of the island to paddle - crisp mountain air - yes can feel it on my face, sound of paddles - it's coming too..............

Oh! I like very much the clear water with its ripplings on the surface. I like also the fact that you seem to be quite close to the water. I would have like to see more of the canoe though. This is a very peaceful picture. And your note goes well with it.
