Photographer's Note

View of Diablo Lake from the turnout on North Cascades Highway. The North Cascades are full of lakes this color, which are caused by glaciers. This lake here is actually a reservoir behind Diablo Dam, which generates power for the City of Seattle.

Bonjour Matthew,
un seul petit repproche, la dominante bleutée même dans le vert des sapins.
Sinon, un cadrage sans cial qui pour mon accentue encore l'encaissement de la vallée, c'est bien vu.
Et ces diagonales dans les sapins eux-mêmes marquant les limites des collines.
Un tout bon job.

Hi Matthew, excellent textures and colour throughout this one. The composition is very good with the lake angling down through the trees. I like that zigzag pattern formed by the trees on the mountains. Very nice.

The color of the lake is quite beautiful, and I love the different folds in the trees on the mountain.
It's a gorgeous view.

This is a lake with an amazing colour!
Interesting composition of this fine landscape dominated by the dense forest, great natural colours...
The curving lake adds some dynamics, and there is a fine feeling of depth in the image!

Hi Matthew:

If only your previous post of Diablo Lake had captured this color! I love the color of the lake in this shot. The crisscrossing lines of the mountains are nice as well. One thing that could have been better about this shot is that the sun seems to be fairly directly overhead, causing quite a bit of haze on the trees. Otherwise, I quite like the image.
