Forest At Dusk, a photo from Utah, West

Photographer's Note

The color and light of the forest with the ferns and colored flowers was amazing. The contrast and texture teased the eye. And the sound of the animals and birds made for a wonderful time while photographing.

This image was made near Cascade Springs, above Heber City.

I watched the historgram carefully as I exposed, choosing to keep a shallow aperature so that only a narrow plane would fully in focus. It was quite dark at the time of exposure.

Dana, this is a lovely woodland flower detail. The tiny blue blossoms are just exquisite with the dark greens and lacy white flowerheads. I like the graceful arcs of the green plants in the background. This is the kind of photo that makes me hear the sound of birds.

Very peaceful picture, Dana. I can see how you got the whites so nicely. But the blues of the flower. Were they that saturated. Just beautiful! Do you know what flower that is?
