Photographer's Note
The Virgin River has carved the canyon through Zion National Park. You can see the layers of different minerals that have been exposed by erosion. The red is iron and the white is limestone which remains where the iron has been leeched from the soil.

Hello,
nice cross-section through the rock layer
one thousand years he carved river
interesting note,
the picture is flat,
definitely lacks this photographs foreground
which would give the impression depth of field,
best regards,
Greg

Ciao Eva,
really interesting geological formation of this cliff, we can clearly see the stripes of growth, very nice contrast between the clear sky and the color of the rocks, very sharp too,
regards,
Valter
