Great Sand Dunes National Park is at the foot of mountains. The sand is blown over the mountains and collects at its base creating the greatest inland sand dunes in the United States. I liked the layered look ofl the mountain, sand dunes and fields in the foreground of this picture, that's why I took it.

Hi Eva,
you got a lot of beautiful landscape shots in your collection. A pity the this pic is a bit grainy but I like it because of the fine composition and the layers as you call it.
