Mills Lake - Rocky Mountain National Park
It was largely due to the efforts of naturalist Enos Mills that Rocky Mountain National Park was created ...
This site has lots of information on Mr. Mills

I have always thought this place a fitting namesake
I thought I would share my favorite Enos Mills quote ..
""...I wish I could transfer to you the poetry of the pathless woods...Many a strong day I have had with the mists on the mountains...I have lived on Alpine moorlands, with groves and tree-fringed grass-plots, with white cascades, with forests green and grand, in silence and in storm, with winter and with summer, and with the shadows of the pines."
from Bird Memories of the Rockies - Enos Mills
this image wast taken a little bit later than this earlier post of entering Glacier Gorge
Longs Peak (elevation 14,259 ft - 4345 meters) dominates the the left of the scene .. the little row of jagged peaks trailing Longs have one of my favorite mountain names .. they are the "keyboard of the Winds" .. moments after this the typical afternoon thunderstorm hit .. and on these exposed rocks was a bad place to be ...

Hi John,
Another beautiful landscape with great colors. I love the way the tree line on each side make a v shape big the big rock at the bottom. I also love the poem by Mr. Mills.

Hi John, you must have taken this picture during the morning time or evening. It looks pretty to me with this kind of lighting in the picture. Great shot. Sothy

Hallo John!
You show us again a great landscape from a wonderful point of view. This time the colours are a bit flat because of the clouded sky. Including the trunk in the foreground gives a good depth. The hight of the mountains is incredible because here in the Alps mountains would be ice covered. Thanks for showing this and the great note!
Greetings from rainy and coool Germany!

Hi John,
Beautiful view, the lakes between the mountains are ever wonderful places. And you know choose very nice point to take the shots. I like this grey tone in the pic, it's truly autumnal ambiance, and very big the perspective. Thanks,
Angel.

Hi John, I seem to be lagging behind, This is a very nice capture of a wild looking kind of place, you would need your furs on here if you were out in a storm, great POV great Composition And a tricky kind of light to get it right was good.
Well done
Cheers

Hi John
Another beautiful scene where you've managed to retain much detail despite the light. The light in fact creates a very peaceful mood, Very nice work!!
Best wishes

A remarkable picture John. You have captured a lot of atmosphere here, and that's what makes a picture. Great work.
