(From Wikipedia) The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) AV-8B Harrier II is a family of second-generation vertical/short takeoff and landing or V/STOL ground-attack aircraft of the late 20th century. An American-British development of Britain's Hawker Siddeley Harrier and Sea Harrier, it is primarily used for light attack or multi-role tasks, and is typically operated from small aircraft carriers, large amphibious assault ships and austere forward operating bases.

Ciao dear Eleu,
beautiful and evocative image of this plane, also known in Italy because it is on our aircraft carrier "Giuseppe Garibaldi". I believe that the development of the aircraft V/STOL is essential for military tactics. Excellent work, congratulations!
Ciao, have a nice Sunday!

I once saw this V/STOL on an aircraft carrier in NY harbour, Eleu ( I may find an old print about), great piece of aviation architecture's that was ahead of it's time ( during the 70th).
A nice clear view caught.
