Photographer's Note

Getty Museum docent: "People come here with the idea that they're going to a museum with workds of art on the inside, but they're really visiting a work of art with a museum inside."

Architect Richard Meier is known as "the ultimate voice of twentieth century modernism". Using basic materials, especially travertine rock from Italy, and lots of glass, and with a billion dollars budget, he built a multiplex of cantilevered, split level, varying angles and geometric structures that are amazing. Then there is the big payoff with the art works inside.
