Photographer's Note
San Luis Obispo County boasts two distinct wine country regions and over 100 wineries, and both attract worldwide acclaim. In the San Luis Obispo wine region, the cool climate and marine sediment combine to produce the most highly regarded, rich, buttery Chardonnay grapes in California wine country.
In the north, the long, hot summers and chalk and limestone hillsides of Paso Robles wine country yield award-winning reds. Superb Zinfandels and Rhone varietals reward wine tasting tours with lasting memories.

Hi
Don't tell me it's full of wine!!!
The metal rings make nice horizontal lines here. I wish there was no truck on the right.
Interesting and original object(s).
Take care

Hi Silke,
I have three bottles of Zinfandels in my wine cellar (among much more french wines which are much easier for me to get). And I promise I will think of your photo next time I open one !
I like the soft colors, and the fact that there is a haze in the background, it makes the foreground more crisp. It's a favorite picture for me ! Thank you.
Pascal.

Wow! Although I know California is known for its wine, I would place this photo location somewhere in Europe right away. Zinfandels are great.... I wonder if they're called something different here in Australia. Well done

A graphic motive with vague light taken up. Simply only barrels. The picture tendency still strengthened by the mountain in the background. A quiet motive without people. Which it everything to see nevertheless gives with a walk. Very beautifully. Many greetings, Wolfgang

Hi Silke,
very original composition. Beautiful the alternate colors of the barrels and their position that it almost seems unstable.
The fog in the background complete well the photo.
Well done

Great light and color, Silke! The barrel rings form a nice pattern, and it's nice that the barrels are not just one color!
Nice pic,

Wow!
There, Silke, you made...GREAT!
Without drinking a drop, I can see two mountains on the picture!
One artificial(barrels) and the original at the back!
In Belgium, we enjoy Napa Valley wines but, mainly, drink beer, French and italian wines and...water!
Another one for the road?

wow, that´s gonna be a lot of wine.
excellent shot, silke, very well composed! :-)
i really like the lines the different layers of barrels make -
the last layer on top looks a bit unsteady, if if would collapse.
nice pleasant colors and good details,
i just would have chosen a different pov without the truck.
well seen & captured, thorsten.

Very nice and unusual picture, Silke! Never saw so many barrels together:) Very good crop, it is nice that we see only a part of this truck. Nice misty mountain as a background. Good shot!
Cheers

Hi Silke,
A most unusual and interesting image, for sure telling a story about this place!
Well framed, good colours and all right details in spite of low lighting...
Interesting accompanying note!

Hi Silke,
the misty atmosphere makes to jump even more the amusing pile of barrels. The instability, above all to the center, it is "anxious" indeed.

Hi Silke, Good to see so many large wooden barrels stacked like that. As mentioned above, the metal bands give good horizontal stripes and the texture of the wood is great. Also it may he been good to avoid including the truck, but it is good as a scale guide. TFS. Murray.

Hi Silke,
I had somehow missed this one when it was posted. Superb composition. The sharpness of the FG against the blurry, misty BG is nicely done. Like your note.

This is very nicely done! It evokes so many thoughts and emotions. I am struck by a wonder if the pyramid of barrels will soon topple over. But at the same I am aware of the effort and labor it must have taken to stack the barrels so beautifully.
Yes, many might not like to see the truck in the lower right, but I think it gives the scene a sense of scale. Indeed, the pyramid is large. It's rivaling the height of the mountain in the background!
And the colors are so nice and soft!
TFS!

Hi Silke,
Well shot with good colours.
The trailer seems to blend with barrels and I have to admit not noticing it at the first look.
Have never seen so many berrels piled up like that before!

Hi Silke,
Wonderful photo of these old wine kegs neatly piled atop of one another. Great detail is seen in the wood and barrel hoops. It is easy to see the difference in the ages of each keg. The misty background testifies that this is indeed wine country.

Can't get enough of this image. The mist surrounding the mountain, then the mountain outlining the barrels, then the truck adding scale to the image, great color palette... then the wine... great note too.
Cheers,
Enrique
