Photographer's Note
Please click on the image for the large version. Mono Lake in the morning, this is not a stitch, only a crop from a single frame. The black band at right is a sandbar, that;s why the water is calmer on one side. It is possible to walk on the sandbar for a different composition to avoid the blades of grass sticking out of the water, but it sinks in the freezing cold alkaline water, which can't be good for boot leather.

Hello Tan,
Extremely beautiful. Perfect reflection here and excellent composition, I think grass doesn't disturb a lot. I like also the fact there is kind of simetry.
Very well done!

What clarity you have achieved here. Nice and sharp with a very pure reflection, helped of course by the friendly sand bar. Nice vivid colors. Thanks for sharing

Hi Tan
Is there a place where you havent been Tan?... Excellent panorama photo with superb reflection. I like your composition with the horizon line on the upper 2/3.
The colours are pure and vivid and light offers great contrast. Impressive sharpness and perfect aperture that allows to contemplate those far away snowy mountains (Sierra Nevada?).
Well done,
André

Awsome POV with excellent light conditions. The fact that you didn't have, or almost didn't have, any wind helps a lot.

A beautifull panorama, all the more since cropping the picture did not alter the sharpness of it. The reflexion on the water is very impressive, the mix of blues between lake and sky very nice and the mountains in the background, covered with snow, like a dream of mountains' photographers.
All the best,
Emmanuel

Hello Tan,
When I look at your portolio in TE, I realize that compared to your extensive energy and travels all around the world, I am well in the back. In Turkey I am known as an extensive traveller, but if they had known you they would throw me into the basket.
Not only there is great diversity, but your pictures are striking as color, composition, light and beauty are concerned.

Hi Tan,
My impression upon seeing this one is...well actually I can't say it here as it'd probably involve a lot of swearing! but in a good way ;)
So what can I say...it's a superb panorama, with excellent colours (that polarising filter is really earning it's pay!). Great vision on your part in seeing the potential here & geting the crop absolutely spot on.

Hey Tan,
Sorry to take so long to respond.. With the workload around here, I'm having difficulty keeping up with things.
I was here during my travels in 2002 but a very tight schedule meant we couldn't stop. Your photo of the lake is totally amazing. The deep hues of blue and the beautifully sharp reflections really caught my eye. The composition, contrast, and light control are all brilliant and your image quality, as I've come to expect from you, is truly outstanding.
Thanks for sharing this stunning pic and for giving me a reminder of a wonderful adventure.
Hugs,
Tony

Hi Tan, An unusual formation in this blue-coloured lake. Nice wide panarama makes it good to view and the large version even better. Perfect reflections are good. So many wonderful places we never know exist out there. TFS. Murray.
