Photographer's Note
Rocks are blown across The Racetrack in Death Valley during storms leaving their trails in the dry lake bed. Depending on the winds the trails can be straight, curved or even zig-zags. Even quite large rocks are blown about, this one is about a foot tall.

Hi Bob
Greetings from Liverpool. I like the shot, the colour banding, the perfect placement of the rock and its track. The detail and patterns in the hills is superb.

I did not get here on my recent visit to Death Valley but I just read an article in the latest National Geographic. Well done Bob. The rock is well placed showing its tracks and the light is warm.

Hi Bob,
Very well composed shot. I like how the curve of the trail left by the rock sweeps from the distance into the foreground. The photo is very sharp and it looks as if I could pick the rock right out of the screen. Great background too, which gives a fine perspective.
Of note: I just read an article in this months National Geographic which features Death Valley. There is a photo from The Racetrack shown in the article. In my opinion, this shot would have been a better shot to put in the magazine.
If any editors of National Geographic are reading this. Take note, there are a wealth of professional caliber shots such as this on TE that could accompany any article of the magazine.
