Photographer's Note

As the Coffe Flat Trail crests a rise before heading into the Coffee Flat Canyon, there's an expansive view over Coffee Flat and Burro Canyons of the central Superstition Wilderness's crumpled, wrinkly bits. Judging by the lack of footprints on the trail, it's a rarely seen vista with Hewitt Ridge and Montana Mountain in the distance. Our recent rainfall from the summer "monsoon" and remnants of two Pacific hurricanes that made landfall in Baja California has greened the normally dust covered and barren plants.
