I have already posted pictures of the Canyon from the hike and from the helicopter also, but noone from the top.. so,here it goes.. :)

Come to the Grand Canyon with no knowledge of geology or environments.. Stand at its edge and see a vastness that reaches beyond anything you could gather from a book.. Remember, the Canyon´s look is different with every glance..
Photographs do not hold it...
Words only blow across like wind.. Forget what you have heard or read about this place..
Come to it with your eyes open..
Whatever comes to you in that first moment marks only the beginning...

Great detail in the canyon. You were lucky to get such a nice sky, but I probalby would have cropped some of it out to put the emphasis back on the canyon. Very rich colors.

The Grand Canyon is one of the places i desperately want to visit, Until that moment i Thank God for your photos Veronica. Excellent composition, great colours, the sky is very impressive. Maybe your best photo and surely one of my favorites. Maybe i little smaller aperture (for example f/8) would give even better results with a larger depth of field. Congratulations!

Here we go again for this marvelous site of which you seem to have great remember. There are some places, some sites in the world, that you discover with some friends, in holidays, and that mark you forever .... this is certainly the case for you about the grand canyon ! The best picture is in your mind, for ever :)
Of course it must have been a marvelous trip if you did mexico and usa in the same travel :))
Ready for another trip in south america vero ? ;)

The landscape looks very impressive especially from this nice perspective overlooking a wide area of the canyon. The warm colours of the rocks are superb and the shift between light and shadow creates a nice contrast. Well done!

Hello Veronika,

This is an image that you should print and frame and remember that first moment you peered over the mottled landscape. Beautiful point of view, and there you have captured the clouds shadows once again that displays the different planes of the canyon. Great exposure and color, I believe the best a person could have attained from this moment in time...

Grand Canyon is one of the most photographed places..yet your photograph is quite special. The paly of light & shadow on the canyon is fantastic. Your image is half canyon & half sky..would have liked if you copped the sky to put more focus on the canyon. An excellent photograph nonetheless

The Grand Canyon is generally very classical but you've managed to capture a very dramatic shot. The light on the red cliff in the foreground is stunning and the details are so sharp. I like how this contrasts with the shadows in the multicoloured middle section and the clouds which go on forever. One of my favourites.

you're right, a photo can never really capture the real majesty and awe of this place. however, this photo is one of the better i've seen. the clouds make it for me...how they cast shadows on the beautiful colored walls of the canyon.
