Photographer's Note
Photo taken of a girl during the Fat Tuesday celebrations. This photo was taken with a 10 year old cheap-o Nikon point and shoot camera. (I must confess photography was low on my priorities this trip)
Initially I didn't like the photo because of the glass that dominated the shot. It initally was big white and overexposed behind the dark background and flash. However, I realize two things.
1- Glasses and their contents are a large part of Mardi gras and it would be hard to find someone without; therefore it was an important part of the story.
2- Through the magic of PS I can darken the brightness and increase the contrast of the glass. I think I returned the glass to the colour of a Hurricane...but my memory is slightly blurred.
