Photographer's Note
Wall of the Washington Monument in Washington D.C. The monument is 555 feet tall. Construction began in 1848, and it was restored in 1998-2000.
A slightly different take on "then and now" appears in a workshop.

Hi josh! I liked your photo! But I think it has to much wall!
If you get a little more close to the man and cut a little the wall it will be more pretty.
I try a workshop.

Andre

Hi, Josh,
I love your composition! I like how the young man in the corner of the photo emphasizes the hugeness of the wall. The angle of the base adds to this sense of breadth. His figure also shows the scale of the building stones. His relaxed slouch and the casually dropped bag are a nice contrast to the hardness and severity of his surroundings.

An interesting composition i like the size of the wall it really adds feel to the dimmensions.
The desaturation is well done but i think the color of the wall is more dramatic in the original
