Photographer's Note

As I was looking at this scene I realized that not only did this wall represented those that have passed but it has also seen many visitors who have come and gone. So this wall in a sense is a living wall that proclaims life that has passed and bears witness to life as it passes.

I felt that the blend of color and black and white was appropriate to the image because it emphasized the mortality of those visiting and the long standing witness to life that the wall represents.

this shot is shivering... the choice to leave the colors on a side and the black and white of the other... a beautiful homage, and a pretty vision of the life which continues.
