The Legend of
Puntan Dos Amantes (Two Lovers Point)

Once long ago, in the time when Spain ruled Guam, there was a proud family living in Hagatna, the capital city. The father was a wealthy Spanish aristocrat and the mother was the daughter of a great Chamorro chief. The family owned land and were highly esteemed by all, Chamorro and Spanish alike.

Their daughter was a beautiful girl, admired by all for her honesty, modesty, and perfectly natural charm. Her beauty bestowed the greatest pride and dignity unto her family.
One day, the girl's father arranged for her to take a powerful Spanish captain as her husband. When the girl discovered this, she was so distraught that she ran from Hagatna all the way to the north of Guam until she found a secluded and peaceful shore.
There, on the moonlit shore, she met and fell in love with a young warrior from a very modest Chamorro family. He was gentle, with a strong build, and had eyes that search for meaning in the stars.

When the girl's father learned of the two lovers, he grew angry and demanded that she marry the Spanish captain at once. That day at sundown, she stole away to the same high point along the shore, and once again met her Chamorro love.

Two very attractive pictures of this two lovers point.
I wondered if you asked the lady for her picture of the sculpture or did you take one yourself. I think the first option also has something attractive.

Hello Serghei,
As a work of art the sculpture in the WS looks fairly uninteresting, so this is a much more attractive photo. I always like photos of people "at work", in this case a woman taking a photo. This one is very good because of the way she is standing, and also because of her black and white clothes and black and white belongings against a green background.

Hello Serghei,

Where photographers are aiming their cameras is always a good place to start shooting. They were there before you, and have already done some scouting. You also set up the audience curiosity of the viewer of the, and graciously answered what the photographer is aiming her camera at. No doubt she got good results, she is using one of those new shutterless cameras. I considered getting one before I bought my newest pocket camera, but the decision was made for me. The family gave me a Lumix with a Leica lens, not as fast as the shutterless camera, but very sharp.

Hi Serghei,
I am not sure how it is even possible but when I look at your gallery through beta TrekEarth I see in miniature a completely different photo of a man taking photo of a girl on a beach, large version is different: it is a lady with a tripod.
It is certainly a very exotic and colorful composition which would fit the theme: photographing a photographer.

Hello Serghei,

I needed your notes to explain the title but then it all made sense.

I really like how you intrigued us with the first shot, it was interesting, with a viewpoint but no purposeful subject. You have used some clever artistry. Have you ever considered directing a film?
Two very attractive shots ... working like a jigsaw.
