Photographer's Note
There is currently a large floor mural on Broadway, in the neighborhood known as the Garment District. It's part of an "Urban Garden", that includes a food market, and activities such as free yoga classes.
The mural is entitled "Ararauna", a name for South American parrots found in the city of Caracas. The two artists, Patricia Cazorla and Nancy Saleme, are native Venezuelans.
This colorful work of art is 400 feet, or almost 122 meters, long, and covers two city blocks on Broadway, between West 39th and West 40th Streets. The bright green strip on the left is a bicycle path, and tables surround both sides.
In the WS is a slightly different POV.

Hello Brenda,
A great view of all the colourful patterns on the normally grey tones of the road. The photo also gives a great impression of daily life on this sunny day.

Hello Brenda,
Thank you kindly for spending so much time today watching and writing about my recent photos. You were most generous. This is also a delightful photo. The artists have really made the street look nicer with this fantastic painting. I would love to see many more streets like this. The picture has sort of composed itself, but you made sure to include enough people in the street and on the sides to make us feel the lively atmosphere.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Brenda,
Very original mural on the floor. What an excellent idea to create something like this. I am not sure how long it will last. What a marvelous place to relax and walking.
Kind regards Malgo

Ciao Brenda
queste opere renderebbero molto più colorate tante città grigie e anonime, soprattutto certi quartieri di periferia.
Una foto molto piacevole e colorata, eccellente tempismo.
Buon we

Hello Brenda,
This street art is vibrant and welcoming; how could anyone not be uplifted to walk down here!
I love how you have detailed everything for us in your two photographs, it all seems so happy!
I wonder, will the art remain or be removed at the end of the festival?
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hello Brenda,
What a relaxed place in the metropolis!
I get the impression that this is a place for vacationers.
Both pictures are very nice but I have a little preference for the one in the vertical format that also shows the height of the buildings and the sky.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Brenda
great to see you posting again, we miss you!!!! Hope everything is ok :)
I tried to guess where this street is before reading even one word of your note...i guessed Times Square area. It's not, but its close by right?
I love your gallery bc I learn something new about NYC each and every time, this is another great shot, a great example of why NYC is one of the best cities in the world.
Having said all of that, i'm still surprised you don't post many shots from Brooklyn. I'd love to see some of the homes and buildings there. Consider it a request and a homework assignment hahaha
cheers

Hello Brenda,
Wonderful diminishing linear perspective with the converging lines of the sidewalk leading the eye towards the back. Nice to see some European style outdoor al fresco dining. I wasn't aware it existed in the US. I never saw any outdoor restaurants in the US south west. Good sharpness & the colorful pavement steals the show. Tfs!

Hi Brenda.
A superb perspective of this street, with this beautiful work of art painted on the asphalt, its color gives a beautiful chromatism, the street very animated of people gives a good vital touch.
Magnificent color, which gives great strength to the image.
Very good brightness and perfect sharpness.
Well done. I like very much.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Brenda
I hope the weather is just as beautiful as we are walking here in a few weeks.
Here in the Netherlands the beautiful summer seems to last endlessly. “Fortunately”, I had two weeks of cooling down on the Faroes and Iceland, but now all that sunshine is delicious again and walking on such a colourful work of art is a nice prospect.
Have a good weekend, groet Rob

Oi, Brenda!
Linda foto!

Hi Brenda,
this picture attracted my attention with its title. It reminded me a photo which I uploaded a while ago HERE,
Different artist, different place -similar title :)
I like the multitude of colors here. The area seems so busy with people, it must be a great spot for people watching.
Excellent reportage,
M
