Voici une carte postale de la Cathédrale Saint-Patrick, à New-York.
Je ne suis en effet pas le premier à vous présenter cette vue classique de la 5ème avenue, avec la Cathédrale derrière la statue d'Atlas du Rockefeller Center.
Ici, j'ai employé le HDR pour casser un peu de la sous-exposition de la statue, qui contrastait vraiment beaucoup avec la façade brillante de la Cathédrale.

This is a postcard from Saint Patrick's Cathedral, in New York City.
I'm indeed not the first to present this classical 5th Avenue view of the Cathedral behind Rockefeller Center Atlas statue.
Here, I've used HDR to break a little of the statue underexposure, which contrasted a lot with the Cathedral bright frontage.

JB your HDR pictures are very good. You seem to master this technique very well.
The postcard is very nice. The statue against the classic lines of the church
work well. A well balanced image with good exposure and details. Thanks.

C'est un cadrage très précis, de forts contrastes qui claquent bien, et une belle opposition entre les styles.
Carte postale peut-être mais traitée de façon originale!!

tu as très bien utilisé la technique du HDR ici car (pour ma part en tout cas) si tu ne l'avais pas mentionné dans ta note je ne l'aurais pas vu. Cela donne un excellent résultat, bien contrasté. Joli choix de cadrage également

J'aime le cadrage choisi à-travers la statue, tu as bien fait d'utiliser le noir et blanc, le contraste est bien rendu, beau travail, pour ma part rien à redire.

Hi JB,
This is an impressive photo with narrow cropping on Atlas' burden. First time i see an HDR on a B&W image. Contrast with the silhouetted statue and the white spires seems quite nice. The cathedral seems a little bit tilted to the left but this is only a small detail.

Excellent control over highlights and shadows, really high class. The tight framing makes this compositioon real strong. I don't care if it's a postcard, i only see a very good and well presented picture...that's what counts.

Une photo HDR en noir et blanc, c'est une bonne idée ! Tu as gagné grâce à ce traitment beaucoup de contraste entre le ciel et la cathédrale et celui de la statue a été attenué !

This might not be the first image of this church at TE, but the post is still very well worth it. The B&W seems to be an interesting choice to contrast well the white facade and the balck iron statue. The HDR is certainly a good try but still not enough to give the right amount of light and contrast to Hercules' back. Yet, a very well balanced shot!

Superb perspective featuring geometic shapes, that works beautifully in b/w. St. Patrick's Cathedral has never been photograhed so dramatically!

This has worked well, with the juxtaposition of statue and cathedral producing a complex and effective image. It works well in black and white and the high contrast adds to the impact.
I'm not sure how necessary the HDR was, particularly as the statue is almost in silhouette.

Très bon traitement NB: l'idée d'y mêler un traitement HDR m'a également donné de bons resultats.
J'aimes bien la compo et surtout ce contraste entre la statue globalement foncée et l'eglise plutot claire.

Hello JB,
the very nice perspective view with the excellent POV show us a great capture in B/W.The sun that falls above makes your capture most luminous.The bell towers of the cathedral seems a little bit tilted to the center but it's insignificant in the compination with the whole shot.Well done.

Salut Jb, if you say that this composition is not the first time it is made, I believe it, although I have never seen it before and think that it's quite a creative framing. Splendid quality, as it is usual from you, in a beautiful b&w presentation and most of all, with a very appealing graphism.

Une bonne composition de l'Atlas découpé sur la façade de Saint Patrick, très illuminée par le soleil de l'après-midi, avec une lumière difficile de contrôler, mais bien résolue.
Un bon contraste entre la statue si obscure et la cathédrale très claire et brillante.
J'ai pris une photo ici mais dans le sens opposé, parce que c'étais à première heure du matin, et la lumière ne m'a pas permis de faire un cadrage comme le tien.
Je te mets à un WS pour que tu la voies, bien que la mienne soit en couleur, puisque le ciel était très joli.
Un travail excellent.

Bonjour JB,
le HDR fait ressortir bien des contrastes difficiles sans cette technique. Mais on voit que le naturel de la scène en prend un petit coup au profit de l'esthétique.
Par contre, au niveau du cadrage et du POV en contre plongée, c'est nickel.
Contrastes d'époques.

il faut vraiment que je prenne le temps de faire de l'HDR ! Superbe rendu ici avec un cadrage original. Ca pête ;-) Tu l'as fait avec plusieurs photos ou en partant d'un RAW développé plusieurs fois en modifiant l'expo ?

Hello JB,
I like the strong feeling and visual impact of this photo with this creation against the facades of St. Patrick's Cathedral.
The B&W tones and the HDR enhanced well the visual side of the photo. Interesting the use of HDR to enhance a B&W photo not oftenly seen around here.
