New York Street Light, a photo from New York, Northeast

Photographer's Note

This is one of my favorite photos. It was also taken at one of my favorite places in New York City, East 55th street, close to 5th Avenue. Oh, by the way, my favorite number as well! ;)

It shows New York's architectural style: very, very modern and new side by side with relatively old.

This photo was scanned, as all of my others so far.

Hi Irina,
Interesting style of the light. Very god comparision with mordern style of buildings from glass. Your composition is good here. I have only one question: Why this light is on here, I like it, but it seems to me that it is daylight on this picture :)?

in order that you can make practice with your Italian ( and I, with my english :o) : Bellissima immagine, mi piace molto la prospettiva e il "lampione" (street lamp) in "primo piano" (foreground) .. belli anche i colori ed il "contrasto tra le luci gialle ed i colori freddi dei palazzi" ( contrast between yellow lights and the cool colors of the buildings)

Yes, this is a little different from VDNKh. I never thought of someone missing a place like that before, but I agree it had a special atmosphere. I used to enjoy trudging through the snow there once in a while (often ending up in the champagne-tasting pavilion...) Maybe I miss it myself. Anyway, I think you chose a very good point of view here - it makes the image entirely. A slightly lesser exposure might have been better. Never been to New York - do you like it better than Moscow?
