Photographer's Note
Here is another colorful work of art that I found during a walk on the Lower East Side last month. I like that the girl is wearing glasses; glasses are cool. :-)
This mural is located in First Street Green, an abandoned lot that was turned into an open art space in 2008. There is always a series of changing murals on display, and and other art pieces to enjoy. I've visited this spot with Lars, Rob, and Paul during their past visits to NYC.
This particular mural is the work of an artist who calls herself “riiisa Boogie”, (real name Risa Tochigi). She’s originally from Japan, but moved to the US as a child. She also has prominent and colorful work next to the World Trade Center.
For a small space, there is a lot of great art to enjoy. In the WS are two more examples.

Hi Brenda
A very pleasing bit of art work! This would grace any wall and be admired - I feel that the girl fig has a calming effect despite the red - warm colours. The composition is spot on and the presentation just adds the finishing touch. Delightful made so lovely and nicely photographed and framed, Congrats
Best regards

Hi Brenda
This is indeed a very colorful shot that reminds me of the late 60's style of art. The fg tree adds depth and layering. Good sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Hello dear Brenda and have a nice
Sunday!!!
I like the idea of graffiti
because in this way facades
which were abandoned for
a long long time now
were turned into in art creations...

Hello Brenda, What a pity I haven't been there with you :). Here and in the workshop a few really colourful and eye-catching murals. I am excited because we have now in Warsaw Banksy art exhibition. Difficult to buy the tickets. I managed to buy for march only.
Have a nice safe Sunday

Hello Brenda,
These colourful murals must make the once derelict lot a very popular place to visit.
The three that you have photographed so well, so colourful and detailed, brighten up a winter's day.
They each have their own message, quite symbolic!
Have a good day and keep safe, Bev :-),

Hello Brenda,
I already thought that I recognised the place, even though this brightly coloured work of art hadn't been made when we were there. It looks really great in the winter mood of the park here, well captured from a good angle.

Hello Brenda,
Yes, I still remember these houses and the fence well.
I've also shown a photo of it (with the quote from Angela Yvonne Davis).
I see that all paintings here are new. I quickly compared with my other pictures :)
The new paintings are very colourful and certainly brighten up the street.
I like your second photo in the WS very much.
The title made me laugh. It reminded me of Neil Young's song "Rockin' in the free world" and the fact that Trump wanted to use it in his election campaign until someone told him the lyrics criticized George Bush :)
Best regards, Paul
