Photographer's Note

Historic manor of Joseph Lloyd (1716-1780), patriot of the American Revolution. Constructed 1766-67 by Connecticut Housewrights on Lloyd's Neck, in what is today the Village of Lloyd's Harbor. The manor was captured and occupied by the British during the Revolution. Lloyd and his family escaped to Connecticut, across Long Island Sound from this property.

The manor is presently situated at the entrance to Caumsett State Park, the former Gold Coast estate of Marshall Field III.
