Photographer's Note

This is the view from the Big Slide Mountain, in the Adirondacks of New York State.

Big Slide is one of the high peaks in New York. Its altitude is 1293 metres, or 4240 feet.

The trail we took started from Keene Valley, and the vertical drop was 853 metres, on a total distance of 15.2 km.

A beautiful experience! From this trail, we had many breathtaking points of view of view of the surrounding peaks: Giant, Algonquin, Marcy, Gothics, etc.

I find hiking and photography are an especially good combination.

On this picture, I tried to capture the depth of Keene Valley, to magnify the majesty of the mountains.
