meet the bouncy bush..., a photo from Massachusetts, Northeast

Photographer's Note

meet oscar, the bouncy bush... (smile) or at least that's how (bouncy and pouncy, as in 'ready to pounce at me') this plant appeared when i met it in the fields not far from skinner mountain, hadley.

on a technical side, the glowing brightness of the leaves is brought by sudden appearance of the sun out of behind a cloud. the bush is sunlit, while it's surroundings are still in shadow. i liked the effect in the nature. this was my best attempt at capturing it. hope you like it too.

ps. i realize, compositionally, i should have placed the bush a bit more to the right, but it was soo tempting to leave more of the neighbor-bush in...

Hi Kristaps, nice to see another of your photos. What was your doubt about this one. It is really nice. Impresive colors. Love the contrast between the very red bush and the sky.
I would it cropped more from the right of the photo, where you can only see the red bush, I posted a workshop, let me know what you think. It was a quick fix, I'm at work right now, but with more time I can make it look better, it is just for the idea!!

These colors splash on my screen! Very vivid colors and contrast. I like these autumn colors and I know they can be very present in Mass.

Nice shot. Like the idea of waiting for the sun rays. Beautiful vivid colors of the red bush that have a nice contrast with the blue sky. I also like Daniel's workshop.

Hi Kristaps,
I think that your composition is just fine as it is. It is slightly off center where it should be. If you would have moved it further to the right there would have been too much shadow detail the left portion of the frame. Sometimes we photographer's think too much and we should listen to our instincts more often. This is a simple but beautiful shot of your lovely New England countryside. This is indeed a happy bush!
