Photographer's Note
The main staircase at the Central Library of the Boston Public Library at Copley Square. The stairway itself is made of Siena marble. Shown here is one of the two lions couchant by the sculptor Louis Saint-Gaudens (brother of Augustus Saint-Gaudens). The lions were dedicated to regiments that fought in the American Civil War. On the base of the lion sculpture there is an inscription the names of battles or campaigns in the war.

hi Chris,
Beautiful place, that marble work looks amazing. Very proud and noble looking lion too. The yellow lamps throw a great light in, making the place feel quite moody. The man sitting in the window is a nice inclusion; i am learning here on TE the benefits of having people in photos.
Best wishes
Noel
