Photographer's Note

I was out of town for the Fourth of July/Independence Day celebrations here in the US, so I'm posting this one a few days late.

I've posted a shot of these statues before - the 'Make Way for Ducklings' statues in Boston's Public Garden, a commemoration of a famous children's book set in the city. I happened across them early in the morning of June 29, just after a woman had decorated them with American flags, beads of red white and blue, and a festive bit of headgear. As she left, I learned that she'd dome so in honor of her son, serving in the US Armed Forces in Afghanistan.

Also, I just realized that I passed my two year mark on TE in late May, during a 'hiatus' from posting. Hard to believe it's only been two years here - my photography has improved quite a bit thanks to the feedback I've gotten from so many of you here, and I look forward to more to come!
