SailFest 2007 at the New London waterfront.

Getting a good vantage point for the fireworks required claiming a spot almost 5 hours before the fireworks started and even then I had to persuade the people in front of me to allow me to get closer. At any rate I knew having the pier with people on it in the foreground would be a plus. Obviously I took more than one shot. There are 2 or 3 others I like as well and may post them to TE later.

This is great! The combination of purple and green bursts are really stunning, and you are right about the silhouettes on the pier adding more impact to the photo. The scene is so crisp, and so are the reflections in the water. It seems it was worth the wait. :-)

Nice firework shot! I tried to get some firework shots myself this weekend, but had a hard time figuring out settings. The exposure info is really helpful thanks! Rgds, Leilani

I was just thinking this morning when I was going to see a new picture from Greg and here we go! I love firework pictures and I think you really stole a wonderful shot here. My favorite part of the whole thing is the people on the deck. Just a perfect shot!

Hi Gregory,

Great nocturnal work with these fireworks, perfect control of exposure and fantastic composition, I like as the light and the colour fill all the scene, is difficult to capture this type of photographies but your you have obtained an excellent shot, congratulations.
