Photographer's Note
Out Of Office
1200 pixel beta version
This young woman from the museum-security seems to take the title of this exhibition very seriously. She was studying het hair perceptive. Maybe it was the antenna she needed for contact with the central security manager and was her communication-equipment out of order.
Two pictures of the exhibition “Out of Office” May 23 – Sept 6, 2015 - Museum of Contemporary Art - Chicago
Scanning, copying, scheduling, saving receipts—these simple organizational tasks become the focal point in Out of Office, a small exhibition that highlights five works from the MCA Collection. By transforming commonplace objects through shifts in scale and unexpected uses of materials, these artists raise questions about the increasingly prevalent role of economic transactions and technology in contemporary life.
Focusing on art made in the last five years, this exhibition closely considers recent approaches to the relationship between the artistic and the administrative. For example, Wade Guyton deliberately misuses an ink-jet printer, running large sheets of linen through the machine to create paintings that record the glitches that occur. Hugh Scott-Douglas and Gabriel Kuri investigate the circulation of currency in our everyday lives by using money and receipts as source material. Additionally, Jason Dodge and Eric Wesley draw attention to the logistics of daily life through the poetic presentation of humble objects.
Bringing the trappings of administration out of the office and into the museum reveals that, at times, the artistic process resembles more conventional forms of work, and also offers possibilities for playful transformations and subversions of practical-use items.
This exhibition is organized by Grace Deveney, Marjorie Susman Curatorial Fellow at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. (https://mcachicago.org/Exhibitions/2015/Out-Of-Office)

Hello Rob,
A very amusing pair of captures of this hair twirling museum security guard in front of the exhibits. I just wonder how a mini-statement from a British bank ended up in a museum in Chicago. Quite bizarre.

Hello Rob,
As for the exhibition as such I would have needed to see it closely to understand exactly what it was about. What I see here looks interesting but not so easy to grasp. But of course this is all about the security woman. Her job must be one of the most boring I can imagine, so she really needed something more interesting to occupy herself with. It's an amusing contribution to TE in your now easily identifiable style.
Kind regards,
Gert

Dag Rob,
Uw foto's van de museums zijn heel speciaal maar wel mooi.
De dame van de veiligheid is eveneens mooi in beeld gebracht.
Goed foto werk, bedankt.

Two photo with same subject, looking as your surveillance project after the security lady, Rob - she was busy with something that gave her a bother...
The board with the short-cuts for useful words, seems as used mostly on Cell-phone texting - but no, this is how to understand the TSB bank statement!
Nice taken indoors under not-the-best light conditions.
Regards,
Ike
