Photographer's Note

Kaub is known for the castle Pfalz, or Burg Pfalzgrafenstein, situated on a rock in the middle of the Rhine, shaped as a ship. A legend whispered about a princess that was locked in the Pfalz – but in reality it was a toll-gate for merchant boats sailed on the Rhine.
The castle Gutenfels built in 1220, 110m high above the town and river.
